Zelina Vega has been released by WWE.
The company made the announcement via WWE.com, writing:
“WWE has come to terms on the release of Zelina Vega. We wish her all the best in her future endeavors”
Vega, real name Thea Budgen, started out on the indies and had a stint with Impact between 2011-2013. She made sporadic appearances for WWE before signing a contract in 2017. She performed on the NXT brand as an in-ring performer and a manager for Andrade.
No word at this time on what led to her release, but shortly before WWE announced her release, she took to Twitter to express her support for labor unions. Although it’s likely that she was already aware of the situation by then.
I support unionization.
