Zack Sabre Jr. will not defend the PWG title tomorrow after sustaining an injury in Germany ... but his sponsor claims the indie standout will be back in action before the WWE Cruiserweight Classic.

According to SPLX Apparel, Sabre sustained a four-centimeter gash to his forearm after crashing into a ring post while wrestling Big Daddy Walter for wXw.

The match was terminated following the injury and Sabre was taken to a hospital where he received five stitches. Luckily, no arteries were damaged and the injury is reportedly healing well.

Sabre issued a statement saying, “This is the first injury in my 12-year career that has deemed it necessary to cancel dates, and whilst I have absolutely no desire to miss any in-ring time I’m remaining positive that the injury wasn’t more serious."

ZSJ is scheduled to return on June 12th when he faces Kurt Angle at a Revolution Pro event. The first night of the CWC begins on June 23rd.

The wrestler adds, "I’m going to make the most of some rare downtime with my family, a chance to rest and refresh my body, start home-brewing my own kombucha, alphabetise my record collection and prepare myself mentally and physically for the biggest summer of my career."
