The Young Bucks have spoken about AEW's partnership with Impact Wrestling for the first time since its announcement on this week's Dynamite.

Nick and Matt Jackson discussed the deal during a recent interview with Jon Alba and Doug McDonald on the Living The Gimmick Podcast.

"Two years ago, this is something Nick and I actually brought up and we wanted to get this going," Matt said, indicating that an alliance between the two promotions had ben brewing for a some time. "And for whatever reason, it just didn't work out. I don't know if that was more on our side or what, but we just couldn't get everyone to agree on what the creative would be," he added.

The AEW Executive Vice Presidents also hinted that some big booking decisions had already been made, but stopped short of revealing any matchups. Although they did tease potential matches with The North and The Good Brothers.

"Are we going to do that stuff? I'm not sure yet, we're still in the beginning of this. But there are some big surprises coming and I'm really excited about it," Matt said.

Later in the interview, Nick claimed that the crossover "makes wrestling interesting."

"That's something wrestling hasn't had in many, many years is getting people interested in the product. This is a way to make things interesting, and if you do it right it can be very good for business. We've done it, like Matt said earlier, it worked well when we've done it in the past," he said, referencing the Bucks/Hardys feud in RoH.

In case you missed it, the AEW/Impact partnership was revealed during the thrilling climax of last night's Impact. Following the main event, new champ Kenny Omega high-tailed it out of the arena along with his associate Don Callis. Before getting in a car and driving away, Callis said that his alliance with Omega would be explained on the next edition of Impact Wrestling.
