"He Hate Me" Rod Smart just went into the Hall of Fame ... The XFL Hall of Fame that is -- but sadly, the place will only be open for one day.

The opening of the XFL Hall of Fame went down last night at Coopers Union in New York for the premiere of ESPN's 30 for 30 documentary called This Was the XFL and is open to the public today.

Stars of the league like Jonathan Coachman and "He He Hate Me" were on-hand for the event ... as well as former NBC Sports President Dick Ebersol and his son Charlie, who directed the film.

The documentary on WWE's football league attempt premieres in February.

Check out the photos below to catch a glimpse of everything on display at the venue. Stuff like team jerseys, cheerleader outfits, merchandise and even the league's championship trophy.
