President Trump mentioned “the great Vince McMahon” on Tuesday during a COVID-19 press briefing in which he talked about wanting to get sports back in business.

While speaking with the media, Trump listed off the heads of business who he’d be talking to over the phone about how to restart the economy including members of the sports world.

“We have to get our sports back,” he proclaimed. “I’m tired of watching baseball games that are 14-years-old ….. but I haven’t actually had too much time to watch. I would say maybe I watch one batter, then I get back to work.”

He then listed off people he’d be speaking with from the sports world like WWE’s “the great Vince McMahon,” UFC’s Dana White, NBA’s Adam Silver, MLB’s Rob Manfred and NFL’s Roger Goodell.

In case you missed it, Florida Governor Ron DeSantis also commented on the decision to allow WWE and other sports with a national audience to be deemed as essential services during the coronavirus pandemic. “I think people have been starved for content,” DeSantis said. “I think people are chomping at the bit. If you think about it, we’ve never had a period like this in modern American history where you’ve had such little new content. Particularly in the sporting realm.”
