Sha Samuels has confirmed that he is now officially a WWE employee after signing a contract with the company.

Samuels -- real name Shaaheen Hosseinpour -- took to Twitter to announce his signing.

"I have officially signed with [WWE]. It’s been a really long journey to get here. Full of ups, downs and loads of hard work," Samuels wrote. "But the proper hard graft starts now!!"

Samuels appeared on this week's edition of NXT UK under the name Ed Harvey. Partway through his match with Joe Coffey, Samuels grabbed the mic and announced his arrival.

"I'm not having this! I'm not Ed Harvey!," Samuels said. "I'm Sha Samuels!"

The 35-year-old is a stalwart of the UK independent scene who has been wrestling professionally since 2004. He has performed for prestigious promotions across Europe including ICW, RevPro, wXw, and PROGRESS.

In 2013 PWI ranked him #246 of the top 500 singles wrestlers in the PWI 500.

Samuels joins Ramage Brown of the list of UK indie veterans who have signed with WWE's satellite brand.
