It's no longer being referred to as a King of the Ring, but WWE has announced the first eight participants in their upcoming U.K. tournament and a few popular indie wrestlers were included.
Cathy Kelley announced the following names in a WWE.com video:
- Zack Gibson
- Joe Coffey
- 205 Live wrestler Jack Gallagher
- Dave Mastiff
- Kenny Williams, who debuted on 205 Live last night
- El Ligero
- Joseph Conners, a participant in last year's tournament
- Amir Jordan
The first round of the tournament kicks off at Download Festival next month. The top eight competitors will advance to the next round of the tournament, which takes place June 18 and 19 in Royal Albert Hall.
The final competitors will be announced on Friday.
