The confusion over NXT's first live episodes being split between USA Network and WWE Network has finally been explained -- and it turns out "Suits" is to blame.

Triple H talked about next week's premiere with Newsweek and said the network split was needed due to the final episodes of Suits airing on USA at 9 pm ET.

As we previously reported, the first hour of the September 18th and 25th episodes of NXT will air on USA Network. The second hour will air on WWE Network. After that, starting in October, NXT will air its live show for two hours every Wednesday.

"I don't look at it as them preempting us," Triple H told Newsweek, "They have their season finales there and [Suits] is a great show for our partners at USA. I'm excited for the first two weeks to give people a taste, but leaving them wanting more. If that makes people jump over to the Network to watch the second hour, we are going to put some spectacular stuff on the first hour on USA and some on the second hour as well."

For those unaware, Suits is USA Network's longest-running original scripted series.

Triple H also reveals in the interview that the Cruiserweight Championship could, in the near future, become an NXT title. He also touches on the possibility of wrestlers staying on NXT instead of being "called up" to Raw or SmackDown.
