Comedian Tom Segura set Twitter ablaze today after a clip of him saying wrestling is for "f*cking r*tards" spread like wildfire ... and now Dolph Ziggler wants to set him straight.

This all came about after the topic of wrestling came up on Segura's show "Your Mom's House" and the podcast host went off on an expletive-filled rant.

"I think wrestling is for f*cking r*tards. I think it is the f*cking stupidest shit," he said. "It's fake and you're a f*cking idiot. They're not real fights. These are just stunt people."

When wife and co-host Christina P who, to be clear, had no problem with any of Segura's language, revealed she once attended a live WWE event and said it was "fun," Segura responded by saying "Yeah, so is the Special Olympics."

Guys like Ricochet and King Corbin weighed in with their disapproval on Twitter, but it was Dolph Ziggler who offered the most thorough, nuanced take.

Ziggler wrote a lengthy notes app plea attempting to explain how what they do is no different than movies or TV shows and closed with: "I am extremely proud of the incredible work wrestlers continue to put in everyday and I am pleased with our product (usually). I will assume this is a comedic take from someone having fun. If not, I am always willing to discuss the professional wrestling business at length, any time and any place."

Segura responded "come on over!," so it appears the meeting of the minds will happen in the near future. Might be best to have some popcorn ready.
