WWE developmental talent Terrance Jean-Jacques was charged with numerous offenses after being arrested this weekend — and sources tell us he’s been accused of sitting on his pregnant girlfriend to stop the woman from leaving her apartment.
The Eagle-Tribune of Haverhill, Massachusetts reports that Terrance was arrested Sunday and arraigned today on charges of assault and battery, kidnapping, witness intimidation, destruction of property and threatening to commit a crime.
Our sources say the incident allegedly started after on-again, off-again girlfriend Jillian Gilman confronted him to ask about the wrestler leaving in the middle of the night, which caused him to snap.
We’re told his girlfriend didn’t claim that Terrance “hit” her, but did tell police that he was physical. He allegedly twisted her arm back in the heat of the moment, then knocked her to the ground and sat on Jillian’s legs. She was left with bruises and a broken phone.
Sources tell us Jillian felt like she had no choice but to contact police afterward, because the violence had been too intense and she feared for her life.
In court, the judge denied his mother’s request that he be released to the care of his parents. He was ordered to be held without bail, pending a hearing.
Jean-Jacques — a collegiate wrestler who signed with NXT in April — has now been suspended by WWE over the incident, according to ProWrestling.net. The wrestling company released a statement saying, “We have zero tolerance for matters involving domestic violence, and per our policy, Terrance Jean-Jacques has been suspended indefinitely following his arrest.”
UPDATE: Terrance’s mom posted a statement on his Facebook saying he is not guilty of the charges.
