The line-up for the 2021 SmackDown Elimination Chamber match has been decided, as has the prize for whichever Superstar emerges victorious.
This week’s edition of SmackDown on FOX opened with Paul Heyman informing Roman Reigns that he is contractually obligated to defend his Universal Championship at Elimination Chamber … but he doesn’t have to defend it inside the Elimination Chamber structure.
Heyman then informed WWE official Adam Pearce that Reigns will defend his title against the winner of the Elimination Chamber match immediately following the conclusion of said match.
Pearce then confirmed the match’s first two competitors: Roman’s cousin and cohort Jey Uso, and his bitter enemy Kevin Owens.
Multiple qualifying tag team matches took place over the course of the show to determine the other four Elimination Chamber contenders:
- Sami Zayn and Baron Corbin qualified by defeating Dominik and Rey Mysterio via pinfal
- Cesaro and Daniel Bryan secured their spots by defeating Dolph Ziggler and Robert Roode via submission
SmackDown concluded with all six Elimination Chamber entrants brawling in the ring.
