Shad Gaspard has been pronounced dead at the age of 39-years-old after his body was found this morning on Venice Beach.

According to a news conference, Shad's body washed ashore about halfway between Venice Beach pier and the lifeguard headquarters. Initial signs of foul play were not found.

Gaspard, one-half of popular tag team Cryme Tyme, went missing on Sunday around 4:00 p.m. after he and a group of swimmers got caught in a strong rip tide off the coast of Venice Beach.

Shad's 10-year-old son, who was part of the group, was recovered by lifeguards on Sunday. Gaspard had instructed rescuers to help his son first before a large wave submerged him. His son was rescued and did not requite hospitalization.

Gaspard broke into the WWE as part of Cryme Tyme in 2006. After he and partner JTG were released in 2007, they returned in 2008 and began a brief program with John Cena. In 2009, they had a match against Chris Jericho and Big Show for the WWE Tag Team Championships at SummerSlam.

After being released again in 2010, Gaspard transitioned to the big screen. He appeared in small roles in movies like "Think Like A Man Too" and "Get Hard." Most recently, he appeared this year in "Birds of Prey."

Gaspard is survived by his wife, Siliana.
