Seth Rollins Speaks Out Against Jim Cornette’s Comments Towards Becky Lynch Pregnancy

seth rollins jim cornette becky lynch pregnancy comments speaks out rant podcast after the bell drive thru

Jim Cornette recently criticized Becky Lynch for getting pregnant while being a top star in WWE. Now, Seth Rollins has spoken out against the former wrestling manager’s “misogynist” comments.

During an interview on Corey Graves’ “After the Bell” podcast, Rollins addressed Cornette’s rant.

“It hurt my feelings on a personal level, because Jim Cornette is someone who is a legend in our industry, and he is someone I have personally worked with in Ring of Honor,” Rollins said. “For him to come out and say some real negative things, some real misogynist things about women in general, and pregnancy in the industry. It kinda caught me off guard and made me lose a lot of respect for somebody that a lot of people had already kind of lost respect for, and I was still holding on to hope that somewhere along the line there was a personal connection between Jim and I, that he would think twice before making some egregious comments about women, about my wife, that were just completely – I can’t even forgive them. I don’t even want to repeat them.”

For those who missed Cornette’s rant, the former NWA announcer blasted Lynch for getting pregnant while making a huge salary as a top star in WWE and said she’s got years before the “Easy-Bake Oven gets shut off.”

“What would you do if your wife came home and said instead of making a million dollars next year I’m gonna basically just be a raging bitch for the next nine months and then give you more sh*t to worry about around the house,” he added.

Rollins addressed this line of thinking while talking Graves on ATB.

“Just on a grander scale, the mindset that has to go into that needs to be eradicated. All around,” Seth explained. “It’s just so disgusting and the more I sat and thought about it and talked about it, I knew we had this appearance coming up and we were gonna have this conversation, I wanted to address it just because I want to make it very clear that this is something that I am so proud of my fiancee of what she is doing.”

Lynch announced her pregnancy earlier this month on Raw while relinquishing the Raw Women’s title to Asuka. In a post-announcement interview with, Becky said she’s unsure about her future in wrestling as it’s possible her priorities may shift after bringing a baby into the world.

“The courage that it takes for her at this point in her career to make a decision. Look, she’s thirty-three-years-old, once you hit thirty-five you start running risks with these pregnancies, so she made an incredibly tough decision,” Rollins continued. “She went out there on national television, she had to say things the way she wanted to do, and the fact of the matter is she is the most talented woman I have ever seen in my entire life. She’s gonna be just fine being pregnant, making money, doing alright. So everything that Jim Cornette said is complete nonsense, not just for her but for women all around the globe. It’s been, honestly, for the most part, aside from what we just discussed, it’s been extremely positive and I think everybody is just really happy for us.”

  1. Hey Corey, great podcast! 🙂 Seth Rollins is right for standing up for Becky Lynch. The fact that Jim Cornette commented not only on women regularly but, especially PREGNANT women. Worse, BECKY LYNCH, it is messed up since, Becky lynch is 2 years away from an age that is really risky for pregnancy. I can’t imagine a women without entering motherhood. Although Seth Rollins did say that they aren’t sure if there is actually a baby in her, I believe it. I know many of you out there believe it too. If you are one of the person that is hating on Becky for being pregnant and stuff, that’s messed up man. Like Becky is a brave fiance, daughter, wrestler, and woman. We don’t know if they got the ultrasound or even sure if she is pregnant, I will still be a fan and respect them for what happens next. Jim Cornette shouldn’t have made those comments, the fact that Mchanmon didn’t make a comment is something. I am not saying the Mchanmon family are bad people but, the fact that they didn’t make a comment Jim shouldn’t either. Either way, Jim already did what he did and you can’t erase it from the internet anymore. Becky and Seth shouldn’t worry about those stupid comments, they should ignore it. If you are reading this, just know that your baby is going to be beautiful no matter what, gender, looks, personality, and size. I don’t care. Beautiful, perfect, amazing, awesome, strong, brave, and outstanding are some of the words that comes to mind when people will see your baby December. You are going to be a great mother Becky! Just remember; stop by the ring sometimes, but be careful. Love ya

  2. Jim Cornette lives in a fantasy world. That’s his problem. There are alot more important things in life than professional wrestling. He needs a reality check. What a joke for a human being he is. Bringing a child into this world is the greatest gift a couple can give to each other. According to him though taking that there fake punch to the head and pretending it hurt is way more important. Sorry excuse for a man in my opinion.

You either want a wrestling career. Or a kid. Being that seth rollins is the one that got her pregnant, its kind of funny he is the one to defend her. Vince has always frowned on wrestlers dating each other. From what ive read. So what did you think was going to happen when the news come out? Vince wasn’t going to throw a happy party about. Was he? Duh!

First of all lol Corny never said it’s bad for women to get pregnant at all. All he said was he was astonished at the timing of the whole thing of her getting pregnant during the biggest run of her career and talked about how hard it will be (and it will be hard as hell) for her to get that back should she return to wrestling eventually after giving birth to her and Seth’s child.

Seth Rollins had every right to defend Becky Lynch

  8. It’s easy and PC to jump on Jim. But sorry cancel culture. There is some Merit to what he said. Now go back to you safe space.

  9. Cornette spoke the truth and in a follow-up was more elegant than his initial hot-take. Reality is Becky busted her ass to get where she is and odds are that’s over now.

Jim just pointed this out and wondered how you walk away from this. We’d ask this question of anyone in Becky’s place.

As for Rollins, what’s he gonna do defend Cornette? Rollins isn’t stupid, and presumably likes his current relationship … We have evidence! The only solution is for him to take the side of Becky, PERIOD.

  10. I don’t think it’s unreasonable to say that, if she wanted to leave to start a family, she should’ve dropped the belt and put someone over first. That’s what Ronda did for her. Imagine how much less Becky’s title win would’ve meant if, instead of beating Ronda at WrestleMania, Ronda came out the night after the Royal Rumble and announced that she was pregnant, and that when Becky won the Royal Rumble, she actually won the title instead of a shot at the title.
