Sami Zayn is once again raising money to help victims of war in Syria, and he's launching the campaign at the same time WWE Super ShowDown begins.

Zayn tweeted an announcement on Wednesday saying he's partnering with the Syrian American Medical Society to raise money for a mobile medical clinic due to intensified attacks in Syria targeting civilians and medical facilities.

The fundraiser will be launched Friday, June 7, 2pm EDT.

As you may recall, Sami did not compete at WWE's Greatest Royal Rumble event in Saudi Arabia and will reportedly not be appearing at Super ShowDown on Friday. Similar to the women, Zayn was not booked to compete at Greatest Royal Rumble to "respect the local culture" in Saudi Arabia because of his Syrian heritage.

WWE released a statement at the time saying: "WWE is committed to embracing individuals from all backgrounds while respecting local customs and cultural differences around the world.”
