Recent Performance Center recruit Russ Taylor is the latest member of the WWE roster to undergo a name change.

According to his social media profiles, Taylor's WWE name will be "Tyler Rust."

Rust Tyler's real name is Russel Taylor, but he used various monikers such as Ryan Taylor and Rust Taylor during his tenure on the indie scene.

Taylor was one of six performers whose signings were announced on December 2. He made his NXT debut on that evening's episode of NXT on the USA Network when he appeared in the Thatch As Thatch Can with Timothy Thatcher and Tommaso Ciampa.

The other five Performance Center recruits were:

  • Alex Brandenburg, who was known on the indies as Alex Zayne
  • Sojiru “Ikemen”  a 26-year-old wrestler from Japan who was trained by WWE/ECW legend Tajiri
  • Anriel Howard, a former college basketball player
  • Deveon Everheart Aiken and Zachary Green, aka Dezmond Xavier and Zachary Wentz of The Rascalz.
