Fox head honcho Rupert Murdoch was in attendance for the company's pitch to acquire TV rights to SmackDown Live and reportedly told WWE execs that NBCU doesn't respect their programming.

According to The Hollywood ReporterMurdoch was in attendance at the meeting -- which also included Triple H, Stephanie McMahon, George Barrios and Michelle Wilson -- and at one point allegedly said "they're embarrassed by your product" in reference to NBCU's relationship with WWE.

NBCU currently pays roughly $130 million per year for both RAW and Smackdown -- $650 million over a five-year period -- but the new deals across Fox and NBCU will reportedly pull in $2.35 billion over the next five years for the company.

During the meeting, Murdoch allegedly said FOX would fully embrace WWE and air primetime promos along with producing a weekly studio show on FS1. Another key point? The deal would "herald the marriage of the Murdochs and the McMahons, rebel outsiders who had built media empires."

At the end of the meeting, which was reported to be two and-a-half hours long, both sides shook hands on the record-breaking deal.

It's worth noting that the paperwork isn't yet finalized, but THR reports it should be done soon.
