Roman Reigns’ Replacement Announced for Universal Title Match at WrestleMania

braun strowman goldberg roman reigns wrestlemania 36 replacement

WWE announced on SmackDown who is replacing Roman Reigns this weekend in the Universal title match against Goldberg at WrestleMania.

The announcement was quick and happened between segments when Michael Cole said Braun Strowman was now challenging Goldberg for the title … without any explanation as to why.

As we previously reported, Reigns pulled out of the event over coronavirus related concerns.

During an interview this week with ESPN, Triple H now confusingly said WWE held off on confirming the news publicly because the situation would play it out in storyline.

“It’s going to play out in a unique manner and we want it to play out that way,” he stated in the interview. “So I think everybody just has to watch and see how this unfolds. But it will unfold in a unique way and I think it will be meaningful for everybody.”
