WWE just released a statement saying they've suspended Roman Reigns for 30 days after he violated the company's wellness policy.

According to WWE.com, "WWE has suspended Joe Anoa`i (Roman Reigns) for 30 days effective immediately for his first violation of the company’s talent wellness policy."

Unclear when he was tested, but Roman appeared on RAW last night and a Battleground main event was set between all 3 former members of The Shield -- so it would appear like Reigns dropping the title at Money in the Bank was unrelated.

Reigns commented on the matter ... saying, "I apologize to my family, friends and fans for my mistake in violating WWE’s wellness policy. No excuses. I own it."

No further information was made available at this time.
