Rob Gronkowski was announced for next week’s episode of Friday Night SmackDown, despite the future of WWE events being unclear.
As first reported on WWE Backstage this week, Rob Gronkowski was deep in talks with WWE and likely to appear at the SmackDown taping on March 20 in New Orleans at the Smoothie King Center.
Since then, however, WWE has been forced to relocate two shows to the Performance Center in an attempt to help with stopping the possible spread of coronavirus. The future of WrestleMania 36 still hangs in the balance as well.
The Smoothie King Center has not officially cancelled next week’s show as of this writing. However, President Trump has declared a national state of emergency at this time.
During tonight’s episode of SmackDown emanating from the WWE Performance Center with no live audience, the Gronk speculation was addressed and Mojo Rawley joined the announce team to say Rob would appear on next week’s show … but hasn’t signed with the company just yet.
