NXT wrestler Rich Swann recently sustained a shoulder injury and it could keep him from participating in the inaugural Cruiserweight Classic ... Pro Wrestling Sheet has learned.

Swann hasn't wrestled at a live event since the end of March, and sources tell us it's because he's trying to let his shoulder heal before the upcoming tournament begins.

Unclear when the injury occurred, but it appears as though he last wrestled Elias Samson on March 19th -- and since Rich was announced for the CC almost 2 weeks later, we're guessing it didn't occur because of something that happened during a match.

Oddly enough, The Drifter is now injured as well -- he recently suffered a fractured ankle.

A source close to Swann tells us that even though the wrestler is nursing an injury, he's determined to be in the Cruiserweight Classic and doing everything he can to make it happen.

We'll keep our fingers tightly crossed, all night long.
