Scott Dawson and Dash Wilder, aka The Revival, have officially been released by WWE.

The company made the announcement Friday morning saying they've agreed on the immediate release of both Dash and Dawson.

Dawson's contract was set to expire this month, while Wilder still had a little time left on his deal.

As you'll recall, both wrestlers had been unhappy with the treatment of the tag team division for awhile. They both made multiple requests for their releases, but each was denied and the team was ultimately sent home from the road without pay for the remainder of their deals.

Dawson tweeted last night saying, "Guys, for shoot, even if you called us boring or said we have dad bods or no charisma or can’t cut a promo, I love all of y’all. Professional Wrestling has always been my dream. Y’all made it possible."

It's worth noting the duo have a relationship with some of the people at AEW and were even a running gag on BTE back in the day (without ever appearing on the show). As you'll recall, Wilder also tweeted in December 2018 saying "One day we'll wrestle The Young Bucks & everyone will rejoice. Remember this tweet."

According to sources, the two wrestlers do not have a no compete clause and are now free to work or sign with any promotion who might be interested.
