Tony Khan says QT Marshall was pulled from tonight’s edition of Dynamite after coming into contact with someone who tested positive for COVID-19.
Marshall and Dustin Rhodes were supposed to face-off against FTR this evening, but on Wednesday afternoon the AEW Twitter account announced SCU would be taking their place.
AEW President Tony Khan then tweeted the following regarding a reason for the change. “Since last week’s show, in his everyday life, QT had brief contact with a non-wrestling acquaintance who since tested positive for COVID-19. Rather than risk bringing QT to our test site, our doc asked him to stay home & take a COVID test back in GA to protect the rest of us here.”
QT commented on tonight’s match change saying, “There wasn’t anyone looking forward to this match more than me, but the overall health of our roster is much bigger than one match. Sorry to those who were stoked, but #SCU vs #FTR will be great! Enjoy AEW Dynamite.”
Sammy Guevara had also been scheduled to wrestle tonight against Matt Hardy. However, he has since been replaced by Santana after being suspended until further notice due to a resurfaced rape comment he made about Sasha Banks in a 2016 interview.
