Former NWA and WWF wrestler “Outlaw” Ron Bass passed away on Tuesday at the age of 68 … this according to a statement from WWE.
The Wrestling Observer reports Bass’ cause of death was complications involving a burst appendix. He apparently didn’t get it check soon enough and fell ill.
Bass wrestled from 1971-1987 in various National Wrestling Alliance promotions, rising to prominence in Florida Championship Wrestling and Jim Crockett Promotions in the early 80s.
He wrestled as a heel for the World Wrestling Federation from 1987-1989, feuding with stars like Brutus Beefcake and Junkyard Dog before retiring in 1991.
