Just days Nikki Bella's in-ring retirement was announced, the wrestler explained her decision to call it quits in more detail ... and there's more to it than they showed on TV.

As we previously reported, Nikki confirmed that she would be retiring from in-ring competition on the season finale of Total Bellas. But on the debut episode of the aptly named Bellas Podcast --- which dropped earlier today --  Nikki shared a few more details that were left out of the show.

"Something we really couldn't air on Total Bellas is that people didn't realize how hard my comeback was for me to go back to a place that I called home and met the love of my life," Nikki told her co-host Brie.

Her sister then revealed Nikki had been crying in the locker room every week, but the cameras didn't show it. "And we weren't allowed to," Nikki added, before saying she felt like Wonder Woman without any superpowers.

"Something else to bring up is, when they showed you that I made the decision because I couldn't hang with the girls in the ring anymore, what they also don't air -- because they never want me to talk about my neck -- is ... it's because of my neck," Nikki said. She also says she could never turn her back on an opponent in a match because of the injury.

"You saw what happened to Paige. Paige and I have the same hardware. So if I was to get kicked in the back of the head, I would get paralyzed too or even worse," she said.
