If you were hoping to see Shinsuke Nakamura back in the ring on Tuesday, you're out of luck ... because the bite he suffered from a police dog will likely keep him out of action for a few more weeks.

In an interview with Nikkan Sports, the two-time NXT champion said he'll continue to be evaluated but likely sidelined through the middle of July.

As we previously reported, the dog that bit Shinsuke is part of the Bakersfield Police Department Explosive Ordinance Disposal (EOD) Team.  The group was sweeping the arena ahead of a live event when the dog bit Nakamura in the lower left leg.

According to police, Nakamura was treated at a nearby hospital.

Over the weekend, Shinsuke cut a promo in Tokyo at a live event before mixing it up with Samoa Joe -- the images of which can see SEEN HERE.
