The Monday Night Football announce desk has an open seat and WWE panelist Pat McAfee is leading an online campaign to fill that role.

For those who don't watch football, Jason Witten announced last week that he's leaving the booth after one season to return to the field. Since then, rumors have swirled around who his possible replacement could be.

Enter Pat McAfee, a guest announcer for the NFL in the past, whose called his fans to action.

"ZERO CHANCE I get the gig w/o the internet," McAfee tweeted. "If u’re up 4 it, could u tag every / post w/ & .. We will earn this job together. I NEED YOU & all of ur friends help. Spread the love, let’s make MUST-WATCH"

As we previously reported, Pat signed a multi-year deal with WWE late last year to create digital content and continue working on the NXT pre-show panels.

Pat already has the support of fellow WWE employee Renee Young. She tweeted, "Officially placing my vote: c’mon don’t be cowards!! He’s the dude! Let’s shake it up."

FYI -- #McAfeeForMNF has been one of the top trends today on Twitter.
