Brock Lesnar may have told Matt Riddle over the weekend to stop talking about him, but it clearly didn’t work – as the NXT star continued even after the Royal Rumble.
Riddle is the subject of a new video on the WWE Performance Center YouTube channel which shows he and Keith Lee marveling at the size of Minute Maid Park prior to the show.
As we first reported, Brock Lesnar and Matt Riddle ran into each other backstage before the Rumble and it was not friendly. According to talkSPORT, Brock told Matt during the encounter, “Kid, you might as well stop saying my name and tagging me in sh*t because you and I will never work together. Ever.”
After his elimination from the match, Riddle told WWE cameras the following:
“I really wanted to get my hands …. I really wanted to get my hands on Brock! I saw him throwing everybody around. I don’t care what he says, or anybody else says. I don’t care if he wants the match or not. I’m gonna get it. I don’t care. It’s not up to him.
“I don’t like being told no. Especially when I work as hard as I do. Trust me, I guarantee you, I guarantee you I get my hands on him and I make that match happen. And I take his f… I take his career. I promise. I promise.”
According to multiple sources, the backstage altercation between the two wrestlers was real and not a work. However, it did not get loud and Brock did most of the talking.
