It's been close to ten years since WWE has filmed a TV taping in Madison Square Garden, but the drought is finally ending later this summer.

The announcement on WWE.com states:

WWE Live TV returns to Madison Square Garden for the first time in 10 years with back-to-back episodes of Raw, taking place on Sept. 9 & SmackDown LIVE on Sept. 10.

Combo & individual event tickets will be available this Friday July 19 at 10 a.m. ET

As we first reported back in March, the date was listed on WWE's tentative touring schedule in a court filing prior to WrestleMania.

WWE's last MSG Raw taping took place in November 2009.

For reference ... the '09 card featured Melina vs. Alicia Fox in a Lumberjill Match, Jack Swagger vs. Evan Bourne and John Cena teaming with The Undertaker to wrestle against Triple H/Shawn Michaels and Jeri-Show.

Madison Square Garden -- which has often been thought of as WWE's home venue -- recently started booking other wrestling shows in the venue, like ROH and AAA. No word on whether that will happen again in the future now that WWE is filming Raw/SmackDown at MSG again.

Tickets to the tapings will be available through Ticketmaster.
