The father of Lilian Garcia will begin receiving a brand new type of cancer treatment starting next week ... and the WWE announcer says the FDA approved the drug in the middle of their appointment.

According to Garcia's Facebook, she and her sister accompanied their father -- who is diagnosed with bladder cancer and multiple myeloma -- to an appointment in which he was supposed to sign-up for a clinical trial for a new drug called Atezolizumab.

Lilian explains, "What is so amazing is that today, as my sister, Dalia and I were in the doctors office to sign the papers for the study, it just so happened the doctor received word right there and then that the drug had been FDA APPROVED! Wow!! We literally broke out in tears and started cheering!"

As a result, her father will be starting treatment with Atezolizumab next Wednesday rather than having to wait weeks to join the trial.

Garcia’s father had recently been informed that he could no longer receive chemotherapy after having a bad reaction to it a few weeks ago, followed by two emergency kidney surgeries.

As we previously reported, Garcia was given time off by WWE to be with her father during this time -- but she recently made her return to the road on Monday.
