It’s true, it’s damn true … Kurt Angle will be entering the WWE Hall of Fame Class of 2017 — and he couldn’t have been more surprised by the news.
ESPN announced the induction today and got the 6-time WWE World champion’s reaction afterward. Angle told them, “I was shocked. I’ve been out of WWE for a long time and out of touch with them so I didn’t really expect this.” On Twitter he added, “I’m coming home! #itsdamntrue”
Angle’s WWE career included many achievements … including his various championship reigns, winning the 2000 King of the Ring and a run as SmackDown General Manager.
Triple H also commented by saying, “Kurt Angle’s accomplishments both in the Olympics and WWE were extraordinary. He was one of the most gifted athletes to ever enter the ring, and we are honored to welcome him into the WWE Hall of Fame.”
