Kofi Kingston has issued a touching statement regarding his removal from the WWE Championship match at Fastlane.

“I needed to take a couple days to process what has actually happened. Shock, sadness, emptiness, frustration, anger, confusion are but a few feelings on a roller coaster of emotions,” Kofi began his statement which was shared on Twitter.

In case you missed Tuesday night’s episode of SmackDown Live, WWE CEO Mr. McMahon announced that Kofi was being replaced in the Fastlane main event by a returning Kevin Owens.

In the statement … Kofi also thanks New Day for having his back and everyone else who has supported him throughout his 11 years in WWE.

“To have it all stripped away so suddenly is painful, to put it mildly,” he said, before ending on an optimistic note: “I appreciate you all more than you know and I thank you all for your love and support. Mark my words: We will be back. The journey does not end here.”
