Last week's edition of NXT saw the return of Kacy Catanzaro and in a new video she talked about her decision to take some time away from the company last year.

The WWE Performance Center's YouTube channel published a video on Wednesday focusing on Catanzaro's return and friendship with fellow Superstar Kayden Carter.

As you'll recall, Squared Circle Sirens first reported Kacy had requested her release from WWE over the summer. Her boyfriend Ricochet commented on the report afterward saying, “She’s still with the company. She’s not retired at all and she’s not injured. It’s a tough sport and we’re all hurting, but there is nothing wrong with her.”

Now, in the new video shared by WWE, Kacy addresses the elephant in the room.

"I just kinda was figuring out if this is the right path for me or not," she said. "And I think that it's not something that people usually talk about, because I know that this is really difficult to get into. This is people's dreams since they're born. But for me, it wasn't what I always knew I wanted to do. I had my own paths. I had gymnastics, I had American Ninja Warrior. Those were my, kinda, forever dreams. And I think that coming into something new like this, I think that it is fair to have moments where you're not sure. Physically, mentally, I just didn't know if this was the right place for me."

Catanzaro then talked about how taking time away to rehab herself physically and mentally, as well as doing some soul searching, led her back to NXT.

"Now that I'm back, I've got a new mindset," she added. "I'm excited. I think for me it's just exciting to be back and see what the possibilities are with a brand new mindset."
