jose lothario dead dies death

Legendary wrestler José Lothario reportedly passed on Tuesday at the age of 83-years-old.

The news of his death was reported by former NWA President Bruce Tharpe and later confirmed by the Cauliflower Alley Club, though no details on the cause of his death have been made available.

Lothario competed in the NWA for most of his career. He also famously trained Shawn Michaels and appeared in HBK’s corner at WrestleMania XII for the Iron Man match against Bret Hart.

“So thankful that I had the opportunity to induct him into the NWA Hall of Fame while I served as President,” Tharpe wrote on Twitter. “He was so happy and it was my pleasure to induct him. God bless you Jose Lothario and may you Rest In Peace.”

We’ll keep you updated if any additional information is made public.

  1. I remember Jose Lothario. He was the Mickey to HBK’s Rocky back in 1996 when Shawn was doing the sympathetic babyface run to his first WWE world title win at Wrestlemania 12.

He was basically brought in the fold to help sell tickets for 12. He was a legend in Texas and Vince was counting on him to give the event a rub.
I always thought it was an odd pairing for that stage of Shawn’s career.
Supposedly HBK was an ass to him backstage. I kinda get it… It was supposed to be Shawn’s moment and now he had Joe tagging along.
That by no means excuses Shawn for being an ass to Joe.

  2. No disrepect, I thought he was in his 80s when he managed Shawn in the WWF
