John Cena could soon take his movie career to the next level, as he's in talks to join the cast of a big superhero movie.

According to Variety, Cena is close to snagging the role of "Peacemaker" in the sequel to 2016’s "Suicide Squad." The part was originally intended to go to Dave Bautista.

The movie is being written and directed by James Gunn, who clearly knows a thing or two about directing pro wrestlers for the silver screen. Gunn cast Dave Bautista in both "Guardians of the Galaxy" movies, which helped launch the wrestler-turned-actor into a Hollywood commodity.

Suicide Squad 2 is expected to hit theaters in 2021.
