Pro Wrestling Sheet has learned NXT wrestler Joaquin Wilde suffered an injury over the summer that now requires surgery.

According to sources, Wilde aka former Impact wrestler DJZ suffered a broken eye socket back in July in what was said to have been a "freak accident" during training.

We're told doctors held off on surgery these past few weeks to see if the injury would heal on its own. They've since decided, however, that surgery would be best.

After the procedure, sources say Wilde will likely only be out of action for a few more weeks.

Joaquin signed with WWE in late March and made his first appearance on NXT TV during the first round of the NXT Breakout Tournament against Angel Garza in June.
