WWE Hall of Famer Jim Ross could be making his long awaited return to the announce booth on a weekly basis … the wrestling legend is in talks with AXS TV to call the action for NJPW.
MLW radio first reported the news saying a contract was signed, but J.R. refuted that saying, “Those telling you that I have a new, wrestling gig are jumping the gun as I have NO done deal w/ anyone.”
Pro Wrestling Sheet has learned talks are still on-going between the two sides — which is why Jim Ross noted he has no “done deal” — but the whole thing could very well happen.
The move is pretty surprising. Ross would be replacing new WWE announcer Mauro Ranallo, who recently made his debut on Smackdown as the play-by-play man.
The battle between NJPW and WWE rages on.
