WWE Composer Jim Johnston Has Been Released

jim johnston released wwe

Pro Wrestling Sheet has confirmed Jim Johnston — who composed classic WWE entrance themes for decades — was recently released from the company.

Word of his departure first broke on social media yesterday and sources with direct knowledge have now confirmed the rumors were accurate.

For those unaware, here are some of the wrestlers he created iconic themes for:

  • Stone Cold Steve Austin
  • D-Generation X
  • Ultimate Warrior
  • The Rock
  • Triple H
  • The Undertaker
  • Chris Jericho
  • Vince McMahon
  • Mankind

No word on the reason for his release, but it doesn’t appear to be a mutual decision and WWE had recently been using CFO$ for most of their new themes.

  1. Not to be an ignorant asshole but what is CFO$? Is that a band or some program?

    • Yes. What is CFO$ ? 🐓🏁

It’s a band. There’s a bunch of videos of them doing entrance music for Shinsuke Nakamura and Bobby Roode.

        • Really, Charlotte is bad? She was one of the very few interesting things about Women’s wrestling in 2016. She is an amazing heel and the hate she gets kind of reminds of the hate Miz got til his recent surge of brilliant promos and match against Ziggler.

    • They produce music for the WWE as well. The theme music of Sasha Banks, Bobby Roode, Nakamura, Bayley have been produced by CFO among others. It’s a two man group.

  2. Jim Johnston should be in the WWE Hall of Fame. 🐓🏁

  3. That’s too bad. I prefer Jim’s work over CFO’s. The problem with CFO is that, their music for the wrestlers are great but it is an actual song that takes forever for the hook to kick in.

While with Jim Johnston, his music hits the hook immediately. Right of the gate. Glass breaks for Stone Cold, If you smell what the rock is cooking. Weird explanation but there is a difference and CFO’s stuff takes forever for the hook of the song to hit.

It would be a travesty of epic injustice if wwe does not acknowledge this man’s absolute talent.. One of only 3 reasons I continued watching as long as I did was for new themes.
