SmackDown’s move to Fox is just weeks away and the network is promoting the show’s arrival in a new campaign starring Nascar legend Jeff Gordon.
Fox Sports shared Gordon’s commercial on Tuesday showing the auto icon at the helm of WWE’s moving truck for a tour that will end in Los Angeles on October 4.
The announcement states:
FOX Sports’ WWE moving truck is decorated with images of WWE Superstars and contains all the essentials for the bicoastal move – folding tables, metal chairs, Championship Titles and all. WWE Superstars will also make appearances at each stop including Seth Rollins, Charlotte Flair, Becky Lynch, Booker T and more.
The tour kicked off on Sunday, Sept. 15, at WWE Clash of Champions in Charlotte, N.C., and makes 15 additional stops en route to its final destination of Los Angeles on Friday, Oct. 4 for the premiere of FRIDAY NIGHT SMACKDOWN on FOX.
The truck drops in on some of sports’ major moments – from MLB on FOX’s St. Louis Cardinals vs. Chicago Cubs matchup on Thursday, Sept. 19, to college football’s BIG NOON SATURDAY contest between Michigan and Wisconsin on Saturday, Sept. 21, and a pair of NFL on FOX matchups, Oakland Raiders at Minnesota Vikings on Sunday, Sept. 22 and Carolina Panthers at Houston Texans on Sunday, Sept. 29.
In addition, the tour will stop at several FOX affiliate morning shows in Austin, TX, Chicago, Dallas, Detroit, Houston, Kansas City, MO, Los Angeles, Minneapolis, Phoenix, San Diego and Washington.
