Jack Gallagher has been released by WWE in the wake of a sexual misconduct allegation.

The statement from the company was brief, reading: "WWE has come to terms on the release of Jack Gallagher (Jack Claffley)."

On Friday, Gallagher was accused of getting a woman drunk and taking advantage of her at a New Year's Eve party in 2014. Gallagher allegedly made multiple advances on the woman, even ripping and pulling down her skirt in a bathroom.

The accusation against Gallagher came out as part of the #SpeakingOut movement, where people have come forward with stories of sexual, verbal and emotional assault in the wrestling industry.

As you'll recall, WWE released a statement which explained talent accused in the #SpeakingOut movement would be suspended if arrested for domestic violence or sexual assault and terminated if convicted. However, in the event incontrovertible evidence of such illegal misconduct is presented to WWE, the company said they had the ability to fine, suspend or terminate someone immediately.
