Pro Wrestling Sheet has learned Hulk Hogan was completely cut from an upcoming WWE Studios film ... causing the whole movie to go through major edits.

Hogan filmed scenes for "Killing Hasselhoff" in 2014, but the decision to cut him from the flick was made a few months after his racist tirade was uncovered by the National Enquirer last year.

Sources tell us Hulk was heavily featured in the first 15 minutes of the movie. No reshoots were required for the change though, our sources say producers used footage that was already shot -- which forced people working on the film to re-edit almost all of it.

The flick is set to be released this year and is currently running test screenings.
