The public battle between David Otunga and Jennifer Hudson over their child seems to be cooling down, as she's dropped the restraining order and he's been awarded temporary custody.

According to TheBlast.com, a judge signed off on the motion yesterday after Hudson voluntarily made the decision to drop her restraining order against the WWE announcer.

As we previously reported, the Academy Award winning actress filed documents saying Otunga had been physical with her -- but he adamantly denied the allegations.

TMZ reports David will not be moving back into their family home.
