The Dark Order's "Exalted One" hasn't been revealed yet, but Matt Jackson says it was not intended to be Marty Scurll before he re-signed with ROH.

During a Q&A session Friday night on Instagram, the AEW EVP was asked if Marty was supposed to be "The Exalted One" of the Dark Order. Matt simply replied saying, "NOPE."

Dave Meltzer of the Wrestling Observer reported Marty was the company's first choice for the yet-to-be-revealed character. The report said AEW was hoping he'd debut in the show closing angle on 12/18 that was ultimately criticized by a majority of the fanbase.

As we previously reported, Marty decided to stay with Ring of Honor and is now a big part of their creative team behind the scenes.

When someone else asked Matt how he felt about Marty not coming to AEW, Jackson replied jokingly with the gag from Being the Elite about Kenny Omega hiring Marty Jannetty instead.
