Pro Wrestling Sheet has learned former TNA World Champions Ethan Carter III and James Storm both auditioned for a spot on the upcoming season of The Amazing Race ... but it doesn't look like they made the cut.

Multiple sources tell us EC3 and Storm -- as well TNA Knockout Rebel -- met with casting execs at various times over the past 2 months after TNA management pushed them to try getting on the show.

In 2014, Robbie E and Brooke Adams competed on the CBS series and ended up in 4th place.

We're told the powers that be were impressed with what they saw ... but at this point, it doesn't look like any of the wrestlers will be cast on this season of the show. No word on why.
