The rumors were true! Former WWE champ Edge returned to the ring on Sunday in the annual men's Royal Rumble match.

"The Rated R-Superstar" was the number 21 entrant in the match and received a huge pop from the crowd as Michael Cole sold the big moment on commentary. He then hit multiple spears on the competitors in the ring.

Rumors of Edge returning to WWE first began months ago, but the WWE Hall of Famer denied they were true multiple times. The 46-year-old attempted to divert attention away from himself this weekend by tagging his location on Instagram in North Carolina.

As you'll recall, Edge got physical in a WWE ring for the first time in years at SummerSlam 2019 when he speared Elias. In a subsequent podcast, he opened up about how he believed he could wrestle one more match again – despite retiring in 2011 because of a neck condition.
