Dwayne "The Rock" Johnson and Issa Rae are reportedly developing a scripted series for HBO about a backyard wrestling promotion.

The series is currently titled “TRE CNT” and Variety reports the show is about:

Cassius Jones, a young dock worker and struggling pro-wrestler, who uses inherited life-insurance money for start-up cash and the deed to a shotgun house from his grandfather to start a hip-hop centric backyard wrestling empire in Houston’s Third Ward (The Tre) with the help of his working-class family, neighbors, and friends.

Johnson and Dany Garcia will executive produce the show with Hiram Garcia at Seven Bucks Productions. Rae and Montrel McKay will also executive produce through Issa Rae Productions.

The Rock's last HBO show "Ballers" ended in October 2019. Issa Rae's show "Insecure" is currently in its fourth season on the network.
