WWE has announced the Dusty Rhodes Tag Team Classic is returning in 2020.

Mauro Ranallo noted during tonight's NXT broadcast that the annual tournament would make its return next year and that the participating tag teams will be announced during the New Year's Day edition of NXT on USA Network.

The tournament was established in 2015 as a tribute to the deceased WWE Hall of Famer who was a key figure behind the scenes at the WWE Performance Center.

Past tournament winners include: Finn Balor and Samoa Joe (who were the first winners of the tourney), The Authors of Pain, Undisputed Era, and most recently Aleister Black/Ricochet.

The specific start date of the tournament was not included in the announcement.
