Drew McIntyre says he’s dedicating his big win in tonight’s Royal Rumble match to his wife.
McIntyre was interviewed by WWE.com moments after his victory in the main event.
“The past 18 years, the past 12 years in America, every up, every down. Every single second of it was worth it for that moment when I threw Roman out and I heard 40,000 people react the way they reacted,” he told Charly Caruso. “I’m going to WrestleMania.”
“The first person that came to mind was my wife,” he added. “You don’t really think about it, but when you’re on the road, fans know it, but we’re away from our families all the time. They endure as much as we endure on the road. We give so much of ourselves to the fans, and we give it willingly, this is our dream, and they’re the ones holding the fort at home. So this one’s for her.”
In case you missed it … McIntyre eliminated Brock Lesnar from the Royal Rumble, then went on to be the last man standing at the end of the match.
