With Paul Heyman and Kurt Angle on the hunt for Brock Lesnar’s challenger at SummerSlam, UFC champ Daniel Cormier is tossing his name in the mix … with a big smile.
Cormier made the comments to a reporter at the Sports Humanitarian Awards on Tuesday after being asked which wrestler he’d like to see beat Brock for the strap.
His response was short and sweet. “Maybe I’ll beat Brock for the Universal Title,” Cormier said.
During Monday’s RAW, Heyman proposed Angle allow his client to first win the UFC Heavyweight Championship from Cormier before defending his WWE belt. He painted the picture of Lesnar competing in the octagon as the WWE Universal Championship.
Instead, Roman Reigns and Bobby Lashley will meet next week to determine who will face the champ at SummerSlam.
As you may recall, Lesnar stormed the Octagon after Cormier’s recent first-round knockout of Stipe Miocic. Lesnar pushed DC — seemingly setting up a showdown at the beginning of 2019.
