Cody Rhodes got bloodied up while challenging for the AEW World title after face-planting onto the entrance ramp during a dive.
The moment happened early on in the match when Cody attempted to dive onto his opponent outside the ring, but instead landed face-first on the steel.
Rhodes somehow continued to wrestle for a good portion of time after this, but ultimately lost via submission after MJF threw in the towel for the AEW Executive Vice President when Jericho locked in the Lion Tamer. MJF then turned on Cody after the match and hit him with a low-blow.
Per Cody Rhodes’ own stipulation, this means he’s no longer able to challenge for the AEW title again.
