After only one televised match in WWE, former UFC fighter Cain Velasquez has been released from his contract.

The Wrestling Observer's Dave Meltzer first reported the news and we've since confirmed the release with sources. While additional information is unavailable, it would seem as though he was let go amidst the coronavirus related layoffs this month.

Velasquez made his first appearance in WWE during the initial Friday Night SmackDown on FOX in October. He then began a program with Brock Lesnar which culminated in a singles match between the two competitors at WWE Crown Jewel in Saudi Arabia.

Cain's second and final WWE match took place the following month at a live event in Mexico.

The UFC fighter had reportedly been rehabbing an injury since November.
